Taiwan 2012: 三十三間堂 Japanese Restaurant@Taipei
I went to Taiwan for meeting up with friends and vacation, and we had this really nice friend who was our"Tour Guide" for our Taipei City trip. This was the Japanese restaurant she brought us to. It is famous for it's special way to order food. You don't say what you want, just what you don't want. Good thing we had a warning before we went there, as the boss there is known for scolding the customers in a joking way when they order food. You are supposed to say I don't eat beef or something like that instead of can I have some rice. They have a lot of cats there, but we can only see them during dinner. So, all the food that comes to the table are unknown. The food there is really good, and different! The boss is also quite cheerful. So, here are the shots of the food they served!
The meal starts with a little pot, hardly enough for us of Squid Ink rice. The taste? Incredible, better then the usual squid ink rice i ate.
Continued by fresh oysters in lemon juice accompanied by pineapples, and roe.
And then, some shashimi(Raw fish)
Fish fillet, topped with some sauce on grapefruit. We are supposed to use the hybrid spoon/knife to cut the grapefruit a little and let the juice come out and eat it with the fish.
Fire, salt and a shellfish? or something lol
This is delicious. It's a very nice broth, with mushroom, and Crab.
And it's charcoal heated
Grilled scallops, topped with some sauce and a slice of tomatoe under it.
And the usual Salmon Maki.
yum... I still remember the juicy, tender beef topped with mustard and delicious sauce.
I didn't dare to try this. It's a type of fish.
And the dessert, Lychee Sorbet, with something on top which I'm not sure of and red beans on ice.
